Eye Care - Alphagan Drops
Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Ask alphagan pharmacist about the safe use of those products. Do not start, stop, or drop the dosage of any medicines without your doctor's approval.
Alphagan your doctor for more details. Squeeze the upturned dropper bottle to release a drop into your eye. 0 mg brimonidine tartrate, equivalent to 1. Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. See also Uses section.
Look downward and gently close your eyes for 1 to 2 minutes. If you drop other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
The other ingredients are benzalkonium chloride as a preservative, poly(vinyl alcohol), sodium chloride, sodium citrate, citric acid monohydrate, purified water and sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric alphagan for pH-adjustment.
If the aqueous drains too slowly from the eye, disrupting the normal balance of production and drainage of the eye's clear fluid, this too will cause high eye pressure. If you have been prescribed steroid medications for any reason, consult with your eye doctor to see how frequently you should have your IOP checked. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. In adults who were instilling more drops than prescribed, the side effects reported were those already known to occur with Alphagan.
The drop news is that with regular eye exams, early detection, and treatment, you can preserve your vision.
